Wisconsin running back John Clay will skip his final year of eligibility and enter the NFL draft.

Clay was 1.012 yards and 14 touchdowns this season but has seen his workload due to injury and the emergence of fellow running back James White and the ball instead.

"It's the right decision for me right now and I'm happy to start a new chapter," Clay said in a statement Friday.

Clay finished his career seventh in the Badgers school history with 3,413 career yards and fifth with 41 career touchdowns [

"There are many people I want to thank those who helped me along the way," said Clay. "I want to thank the fans for supporting me great Wisconsin throughout my time as a badger. I would also like to thank my family for helping me in this process. "
