Leoben and Kara
Mar 18 2009, 10:53 PM EDT
I call bulslhit on this connection. There is no way they frakked, ever. Some of these other connections are speculative with a grain of possibility, but that one... nuh uh, never. If you're going to rationalize it by saying it was a psychological or emotional frakking, then you may as well connect everyone.

I should have prefaced this by saying that I love this idea though. Fantastic.

We noted in the description that Kara was having erotic dreams of him rather than a physical relationship. It's all in good fun. ;)1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Hey, I agree it's all in good fun... they still never frakked. If you want to change this to the wet dream map, then I'm all for it.

Leoben had Kara set up as his "wife" on New Caprica for months. It's entirely possible, even likely, that he had his way with her at least *once* during that time (even if he wound up with a fork in his eye before it was over). At any rate, wherever there was room for doubt, we called it a FRAK. We're just generous that way.

I already consider this a lost cause, because you're gonna call it like you see it regardless of my opinion, but... dude, seriously... you have to be kidding. No offense, but the erotic dream argument has way more sway than this. You're telling me that the character of Starbuck, the most hard-core, anti-cylon badass in the fleet (at this point in the story anyway), who murdered Leoben AT LEAST 5 times over the course of her imprisonment, had sex with him? Not a chance. And if you're gonna go for the rape angle: Leoben's goal was to win Starbuck over and convince her that she loves him and that they have a destiny together. I'm pretty sure that her rape would have put a damper on those plans and probably would have come up at least once during their numerous conversations post occupation. There isn't even a scintilla of evidence that he forcibly had sex with her, which, let's face it, is the ONLY way he would have gotten any.

But I digress... you're gonna keep the connection regardless... so we'll just have to agree to disagree. I still think it's a frakking fantastic concept.

:wanders in: Frakking does include rape... and I'm pretty sure with his personality that he did.... :wanders away:

I agree that Leoben probably wouldn't have raped Kara. He'd lose whatever infinitesimal chance he had at her (unless he decided to rape her repeatedly in order to break her will. I think this link is valid though on the basis of angel "Leoben" having sex with Kara in her dream...right before her Viper exploded. Really, if you count Baltar and head Six, then you have to count this also. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Well, I guess you can say that the Cylons and Humans were "working" hard to preserve their race. Nice work-life balance...
