Who destroyed earth?

I have been watching the episodes with earth and it doesn't make sense if all the bones on the planet were cylon who nuked the earth and why? Does this means humans nuked the earth to kill the cylons, it is unclear. Is this a revelation yet to come? Do you find this valuable?

They still don't know! The ruins are supposed to be thousands of years old, though. Who knows what Starbuck originally saw. We have a few episodes to go yet.

I thought they made it clear a few episodes back, after Sam was shot and started remembering everything, that the thirteenth tribe were about to destroy themselves, which is why Tory, Helen, Saul, Galen, and Sam (the only five who could realize this) created resurrection and left. If that's to be believed, it would imply that Earth blew itself up; no human v cylon combat, just a sort of nuclear apocalypse that doomsayers here on (real) earth expect. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
