What the FRAK's Goin' On! - In Season 4 'The Final Episodes'
Jan 17 2009, 7:03 PM EST
I'm intrigued to know what you think is going on in the final episodes in Season 4. After seeing one episode, 411, I now think I know nothing about where the show is going. It's a mad ride! Let's discover and talk about where you think it's headed. Nothing you write is too crazy. Was the 13th tribe all Cylon? Is Ellen Thigh the fifth Cylon? Is it Earth that they are on? Was Pythia wrong? Who or what is the entity that inhabits Baltar's and Caprica Six's visions?

I love it. They're demolishing every assumption we ever had about humans and Cylons and who made who. "All this has happened before and will happen again" is starting to make more sense now. And it's pretty clear that neither the human polytheist dogma nor the Cylon monotheist fundamentalism holds much water as far truth is concerned.Even more interesting is to consider what all this means for "Caprica", the new series that takes place 50 years before BSG. Whatever spoilers and grand revelations the series finale will throw at us will have to be reflected in the new series, but of course the audience will know a whole lot of secrets that the characters don't. I was actually disappointed at first that we didn't get a more provocative reveal about the fifth cylon, but that's what this show does to us. A mad ride, like you said. Do you find this valuable? |

I find it fascinating that Ellen is the 12th Cylon -- she's always been the character that wouldn't die. Her influence on Tigh, her connections with the Cylons (both alive and in death), the fact that when she first appeared in Season One, we (and everyone on the show) immediately thought: "Hey, she's probably a Cylon."She's the Lady Macbeth of BSG, and it's not only easy to accept her as the 12th Cylon, she may very well be the ringleader of the Final Five. Starbuck's not off the hook, though. She may not be one of "the 12" ... but I don't think she's all human anymore. Do you find this valuable? |

Well how will it all end, I hope there is some sort of salvation for them because I have fell in love with all the characters it would be a shame if they all wound up dead. Anyway this is what I think! Kara is a big part of the puzzle she has been sent by something or someone and she is ether dangerous to the humans or the cylons. The highbred said that the final 5 will lead them to the 13th tribe well it is a fact that they haven’t actually lead them to a tribe but a nuked planet so maybe there is still hope for another group of people out there. Also I think Baltar’s god (also cylons) has something to do with Kara’s miracle resurrection maybe this god (which is sort of like earth’s god) showed Kara while she was dead the vision of earth and the planet that they landed on is not earth but another piece of the puzzle. Anyway I don’t very much care how the show ends as long as it keeps me guessing all the way.

That, I think it will. I also think there will be a huge body count after this recent coup. Looks like Roslin's on the warpath, after watching the preview for tomorrow's episode. They are such teases with the trailers, too, though. Do you find this valuable? |

Agreed. I don't think Roslin and Adama are going to be instruments of reconciliation from this point on. That ship has sailed.Starbuck's gone all Bruce Willis on us, and if she manages to get within 50 feet of Gaeta I think he can kiss his stump goodbye. And I wouldn't want to be Tom Zarek after Lee finds out what he's been up to. Who's left that can reunite the fleet? Baltar? Romo Lampkin? (Ahem) maaaaaybe a resurrected Ellen Tigh? Any takers?
