Ellen TIgh is the 5th Cylon?! wtf..I am I supposed to feel let down?
Jan 17 2009, 1:47 AM EST
OOOO THE IRONY!!!! in her death, in her husbands actions against the Cylons, O MAN!I knew she was off some where mentally, and from her sexual prowess (Like Six) I KNEW it was a possibility!! At the time the pieces just didin't fit. But think about it, what if she's like the mother of Caprica SIx? Tigh would be her father, (YUK JUST THINKIN ABOUT IT, I mean their alleged, inbred Cylon child.) This is completey random (thats how I think/speak/type) so I'm not expecting anything to come of it. My boyfriend says I look too hard into things. But after all this suspense about who the 5th is?? I just feel like theres gotta be something more. Idk, maybe I'm putting the 5th on a pedestal. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Also I need to add. If Ellen TIgh is the 12th Cylon, then Starbuck is not. But there is no other proof (other that Saul's vision) that Ellen is the 5th. Do you find this valuable? |

I still dont think things are what they seem.I think the final revelation is something more than just revealing one. I have thought for some time that they are all cylons. This episode. I saw Dualla pick up the jumping jacks like maybe she played there before and died. She kills herself believing she will be back evern though the hub is gone? = final cylon I saw Saul see and say that Ellen is 5h - cant be that easy = "taking the 5th"(creators are not telling yet) lol Starbuck - died and came back = cylon? Was her NEW Viper picking up a colonial signal because her OLD viper crashed and was sending out signal that only a duplicate could pickup? which is why no otther ships could see that signal? I completely agree with maxinator. I think there teasing us. Maybe their all Cylonl! I don't really know, but I don't think we'll really know until the last few episodes. What a ride! Will 'D' be resurrected? or is Gaeta doing a Boomer and finally realising his true nature, and what is Kara? There are too many possibilities. I don't think we know yet!

Athena is the missing link that will remind them of that,,, Do you find this valuable? |

I'm with Max in thinking that maybe everybody's got a little Cylon in them. I'm sure there's something particular to the Final Five (maybe they were the only ones who actually lived on the old Earth) but I wouldn't be surprised if the whole of humanity had some connection to the ancient Cylon race. Maybe the fact that they "created" the Cylons is just an ironic twist, and another clue that all this goes back far beyond their recorded history. Deus ex machina, indeed. I was super annoyed at first. It seemed so lame to string us along about the fifth Cylon, only to reveal it was someone who isn't really affecting the current story at all. Still, this show is always throwing a curve ball and I'm in the "everyone is a Cylon" camp now.Do you find this valuable? |

I think Max is on to something but either way something needs to be resolved with Cara, because we all know that is her in the ship on Earth but it's only Tigh that thinks that Ellen is the 5th and we all know he isn't the most stable guy...either way I think this episode just rings true the series unofficial mantra of "All of this has happened before and all of it will happen again"

"she dies so ? "I'm not saying that bc she's dead that's why I feel let down. I meant that Ellen just wasn't a crucial character. I felt the 5th shoulda been someone of more....caliber, within the plot. But thats one of them curves! Do you find this valuable? |

"I'm not saying that bc she's dead that's why I feel let down.I hear ya and agree to a certain extent. But I remember listening to the directors talk about Tori. She really wasnt a major character. She came on late. The have expressed more than once in a nonchalant way that the Cylons choices arent really a BIG deal in the sense that we(you and I and everyone else) want to make them. Agree that Ellen is not a "main" character, but disagree that she isn't significant or hasn't affected the story that much. She was always pulling strings, whispering in ears, making clandestine alliances -- and keeps showing up in dreams, flashbacks, and hallucinations, manipulating Tigh from beyond the grave. She's the elephant in the room, and the only character on the show as sinister as Cavil.Consider what we now know about the Final Five -- not just 5 random models hiding in the fleet, but 5 Cylons who lived more than 2,000 years ago on Earth, and apparently all knew each other well. The connections between them go deeper than we suspected, which makes Ellen an intriguing choice. One thing that occurred to me at the end of Season Three when the "four" were revealed is that they were all ringleaders of the New Caprica resistance. Ellen also fits that bill (even though she turned out to be a traitor -- but so much the better!). So the 5th turns out to be the one that betrayed the other 4, and was killed by poison no less! A very classical kind of death, right out of Greek tragedy or Shakespeare. This is going to be good. This is going to blow us away. Brace yourselves. Do you find this valuable? |

The only confirmation we have that Ellen is the 5th is because Tigh saw her in a flashback, I'm still convinced that Starbuck is the 5th...but at the same time that seems too obvious.PS-the premiere also didn't touch on how Cara was the Harbinger of death...everything else started to sew up... Let's just say Kara wasn't a Cylon when her viper exploded. But *that* Kara is dead. The reincarnated Kara may very well also be a Cylon (just not one of the original 12, nor the final 5). As far as I know, there's no rule against new Cylons popping up.
