Where was Starbuck?

Going into the last 10 episodes of the series, for me the elephant in the room isn't "Who's the 12th Cylon?" so much as "Where the frak was Starbuck?" Revealing the 12th Cylon is just that -- a reveal. But the Starbuck situation demands some pretty convincing explanation.

Of course, the two may go hand in hand -- if Kara turns out to be the 12th cylon, it makes her disappearance and "resurrection" much easier to explain.

With her finding her dead body and the wreckage of your viper we have to wonder what is up? It could always be the sci fi classic time travel storyline. Maybe during the explosion she split into different beings. One went to earth and crashed and the other returned to the Galactica. Maybe when she got to earth she is the reason for the inital explosion and the resulting war that destroyed Earth. Dont the vipers carry nuclear weapons? Maybe the Cylons on Earth rebuilt Starbuck and her viper and sent it off with the final five. Though that makes for many other questions. Hell it is the first episode so hopefully they will answer them all.

Yea, all that just makes me wonder if Starbuck really is another Cylon. Shit w her is too up in the air! I can see where NJAMES5 is goin w the time travel thing, the stormy Eye of Jupiter could have assisted in her displacement in time. The only thing I dont get is that if she ended up on Earth 2,000yrs ago, her corpse wouldnt still have hair. (Idk maybe since her helmet never cam off it still would) Weather and radiation can do damage, though. But not, the creators could have left that out bc you know damn well she was going to check her tags anyways for further verification, and thats all that was needed.
So I'm confused on exactly when she was there bc if she was showed up after the war there is no way she coulda got a new viper. Everything was fried..

Ground forces might have been able to detect the radiation from the nuke, if she had one, while she was falling to Earth. It appears to be the first shot fired. War begins. Thats a good lead. (if she WAS sent back 2.000yrs.) As for the viper, maybe it carried back the signal that turned on the 4.

! wanna travel to next Friday.

Hey, yeah, let's travel to next friday. Great idea, lol.

Wow, what a show. Every episode blows me away. So! Where was starbuck? This is a hard one!

One question that's never really been answered is who are the 'angels of god' who inhabit Baltar's and Caprica's consciousness? Are they god's? Are they another race? Are they acsended beings (sorry, that's a bit Stargate-ish)? Are they a programmed directive to save the Cylon/ Human (nickname: Cy-manity) race? Did starbuck really time-travel and cause the destruction of the so-called Earth? What is the trruth of the opera house and why was Roslyn there in the Cylon vision?

I think one possibility could be that ascended Earthlings could be guiding the fleet in the right direction and Kara unknowingly is one of them. Remember the original series was heading down that track before Galactica 1980 came about. Remember the city of lights. Remember that in the original series apollo and starbuck came went to Terra in their white suits as angels to stop the destruction of the planet.

I just keep going around in circles.

Here's a theory -- what if the original 13th colony (humans) discovered a way to transfer their "consciousness" into biomechanical bodies (ie download) and in a bid for immortality essentially BECAME Cylons? What if they lived that way for centuries, until their human DNA was essentially gone?

And what if five of these Earth Cylons found a way to "resurrect" off-planet in case of a total disaster? Remember what Ellen said to Tigh as she died? "It's OK. Everything's in place. We'll be reborn... together." So five Cylons survive and somehow resurface in the colonies. The fact that she said "Everything's in place" suggests that there was something slightly conspiratorial going on.

Then, Starbuck's viper is somehow transported to Earth at the moment of her death, and she is resurrected Cylon-style and returned to Galactica (ie she wasn't a Cylon before, but she is now...)

Sheesh, I wonder if 9 more episodes is enough time to explain all this!

I'm sure if 9 episodes isn't enough, there will be some extended story telling in the DVD release or maybe they're holding some mysteries over for Caprica. The mythology is deep, isn't it. Do you find this valuable?
