Is Baltar's six real and is Caprica's Baltar real?

Much has been made of the origin of Baltar's imaginary six. Is she his subconscious guilt, an angel, another separate spiritual species? Why, this year, did six change to Baltar? What do you think? Do you find this valuable?

That was one of the biggest questions that lingered after the original miniseries back in 2003. It's also one of the biggest questions yet to be answered during this final season (if at all).

I've always assumed the Six/Baltar "conscience" characters exist only in their minds -- possibly implanted through hypnosis or other means, or maybe just offshoots of a fragmented psyche. The key question to me would be, how is it that they BOTH have the same "symptom"? It seems unlikely that random chance could be behind this, and given the fact that spirituality has become an increasingly strong force in the series, I would not be surprised if these "visions" are attributed to god or gods in some manner.
Do you find this valuable?
