The parts of an airplane or other machine that flies, like a helicopter or space craft, are referred to as aerostructures . The term aero structures might seem like a futuristic, sci-fi reference, but it is actually all the parts that enable an aircraft to fly instead of fall out of the sky. For example, the fuselage, wings, landing gear, flight control surfaces, and the frames for all the individual parts are each considered an aerostructure. These parts are in huge demand, given the commercial and military needs for replacement parts and new production parts. While some large scale aircraft manufacturers make their own parts, most draw from aerostructure manufacturing companies.

Keeping planes working in the absolute best condition possible is a high priority for commercial airlines and for military applications. Therefore, companies that manufacture aero structures are always needed for replacement of parts that are wearing out or breaking. Aerostructure manufacturers must keep testing standards and procedures stringent to avoid disasters on a large scale. Testing for aerostructures is usually performed on a universal testing machine. The tests run on the universal tester include compression, impact, tensile, flexure, fatigue, and post-impact compression. High quality of materials and production are necessary not only to keep people safe in the aircraft, but also for the manufacturing company to stay in business.

If the aerostructures can deemed unsound after installed in the aircraft, it is a huge hit to the financial statements of the manufacturer. A plane crash that is the result of the failure of aero structures can destroy a manufacturing company. The highest profit margin in the manufacturing of aircraft parts comes when a company gains government contracts for airplane or helicopter parts. Governments tend to pay high prices and set longer contract terms than private aircraft companies and commercial airlines do.

I spent the last 3 years seems to L & O reruns that go between Criminal Intent (which I think has really gone downhill), SVU and the original L & O. I have to see atleast 6 episodes per night, and I think maybe I should cool it for a while now that the other night I woke up my girlfriend in her sleep and makes him read his Miranda rights ... Jeez!

I have to ask why they are always having "Marathons, but they show 4 episodes, then repeat with the same 4 episodes, do realize that those who settle in for a marathon actually took the time to attend a marathon? And it's not like they have enough episodes that have been created over the years, I am frustrated!

In fact, I did something I swore I would never do ... I started to watch "Monk" instead! And frankly, although I hate to admit, I like the show!

I'm glad you have new faces in the new Original L & O now, but I'm also perplexed as to what the show is on at night. It had U.S. criminal and now is back on NBC, right?

I guess as Christopher Meloni never goes away, I'm still a fan! I've never seen a "HOT" detective get beat as much as this poor man and God, it is not easy on the eyes!

Nip/Tuck is a mental explosion show that usually leaves you with your jaw agape and say how can they do that. This program includes two plastic surgeons who moved to Hollywood from Miami. A surgeon Christian Troy is the guy who crazier sex must have sex with all female leads and then falls at their most vulnerable.

Sean Macnmeara think is the good guy, but actually seems to be the same . He has an affair with a colleague in the successful reality. Theres a lot more characters with different scenarios and make you always want more. This is not a show for children because there are plenty of nudity, offensive language, and running the surgeries.

The thing that I wanted to tell Glen - is to have his crew design a Cylon Baseship that can scare the living crap out of everyone.
Being once in the NAVY, I see what the close in weapon system is capable of, plus the mid to long range weapon platforms.
Because of this, I know how a Cylon Baseship should be constructed. The moment I saw that Baseship design 30 years ago, I knew it's full battle capabilities.
That dual saucer design can kick ass 360 degrees, by +/-90 degrees elevation, and that's what people in sci-fi do not understand.

The present day military weapon systems, and the name of the game is speed and power.
Today, mankind reaction time can't compete with neither, and again, that's what sci-fi needs to understand.
