The opening space battle was particuarly spectacular!
A quick recap of the previous season:
The colonial fleet was last seen in position near a “nebula-gone-nova” while still looking for a way to reach the Earth.
And then we saw a massive Cylon attack with more battleships than anyone on the crew ever expected.
Next, Baltar was found not guilty and was released from prison. He then found a female group that believes he is heaven-sent.
We saw some inner conflicts with the four newly-realized cylons and Starbuck dies… well, maybe not.
Itching to be the first one to know more? Here some major updated Battlestar Galactica Season 4 spoilers for the next episodes, Sci Fi channel gave out some major hints on what to look forward in the upcoming episodes.
There’s clash and suspicion going on between humans and Cylons as well. Both sides struggle to figure out their roots and their mysteries. This episode shows the ongoing strife and conflicts in the quest to reach the Earth and to find out more about the Final Five.
SciFi.com says:
“Conflicts flare among the Cylons as they confront the taboo mystery of the Final Five, and Kara Thrace is pushed too far when her former friends and comrades refuse to believe that she has been to Earth.”
Kara Thrace pilots a lone ship to search for the Earth - desperately. The episode is shrouded with political and marital intrigue among the crew aboard the Galactica.
Part of this episode will show how Cally loses her grip when she finally learns that Tyrol is really a Cylon.
Messianic Gaius Baltar promotes his belief in one true God as an ongoing debate for religious freedom advances. Agitations surface as the crew defends their religious faith.
The prospect of a reconciliation with the Cylons encourages Starbuck to trust an old enemy.
The ill President Roslin and Kara are forced to accept an uneasy alliance with the Cylons. Both must make difficult leaps of faith in order to take this crucial step.
President Roslin’s authority and leadership will be put to test in this episode. Galactica and Cylon rebels combined forces to destroy the enemy’s Resurrection Hub.
Cylon Hybrid abducts President Roslin and this would result in a not-so-pleasing power struggle within the Colonial Fleet.
The fleet is still in pursuit, attempting to destroy the Resurrection Hub. A group of Viper pilots and Cylon rebels half-heartedly conspires against the crew and formulates a battle plan.
President Roslin is still held hostage by a group of Cylon rebels. The rebels are trying to lure the Final Five out of hiding.
Starbuck finds out that the critical predictions of the Cylon Hybrid might indeed be true, and the fleet descends into confusion and hopelessness after a devastating discovery.
As season four confirms that Tigh, Tory, Anders and Tyrol are indeed Cylons, the final and fifth Cylon would be revealed in the latter part of the season-- possibly it would be in the last episode.
As for the Centurions, it would be revealed that they are actually capable of intelligent thought processes which were only suppressed by a device implanted in them by human-form Cylon masters. Later episodes will show that once this device is removed, the Cylon fleet will realize that they cannot battle with the Colonial Fleet and risk the lives of the Final Five. This will lead to a civil war among the Cylons and the humanoid models will have be conflicted about whether or not they should persist in attacking the Colonial Fleet.
Lucy Lawless will indeed return later in the mid-season as D’Anna (unboxed).
We can also expect Nana Visitor to appear on one of the upcoming episodes as a cancer-stricken patient who will keep President Roslin company as she listens to Baltar’s proclamations.
additional spoilers from
SCI-FI:
Baltar will not be visited by Six in his head anymore but will reportedly get another visitor.
Starbuck will spend a lot of time with Leoben and believe herself to be a Cylon for a while. (Some reports suggest that the two have some scenes that occur on Earth in mid-season.)
Last year, Michael Ausiello said something about Colonial scriptures showing the name of Earth to be “Cylon,” which is kind of in tune with the Colonies being named after the constellations in our solar system.
Finally, Edward James Olmos said recently that there will be many character deaths this season. Not just redshirts, mind you.
All in all, sounds like Ron Moore and co. aren’t gonna go soft on us - or on the characters - as the show approaches its finale, which we won’t see until next year.
The next episode of Battlestar Galactica, Six of One, airs on Sci Fi at 10 P.M. on Friday, April 11.
