So question: Why did the Final Five create five males and three females? Maybe with resurrection in place they felt there would be no need to pursue procreation, but wouldn't a better procreation setup be at least four of each? Or even better, five females and three males?

Or was Ellen just partial to "sons"?

This is going to blow your mind, but I feel pretty confident that I know who the 12th cylon is now. She's appx 2 years old and cute as a button. Can you guess? Yes, that's right - Hera!

Now wait a minute. Yes she was allegedly born to both cylon and human. However, to our knowledge, her DNA has never been run on a comparitive analysis against Carl Agathon and Athena. My theory goes somethig like this:

Hera like every human being started out as a zygote in her mother's womb. However, she was not a result of Carl and Athena's joining. She was a dormant zygote already embedded in Athena's womb waiting for a trigger to acitvate her development and eventual birth. That trigger was the phenomenom experienced by her mother - True love. I believe, the same thing is currently happening to the model six being held in detention and supposedly impregnated by Tigh.

No one has ever gone into how cylons are "grown" into the full adult size models we see being resurrected in those gooey baths. My theory is that they are gestated much like humans were gestated in the Matrix trilogy. They start from fertilized egg and grow in essential-nutrient-providing holding tanks.

Now, I also predict that Hera will grow into Kendra Shaw from Razor.
