Their flirtation began back when Dee was dating Billy Keikeiya, who died on Apollo and Dee's first date...and yet that didn't put a damper on their mutual attraction. What really should have was Lee's far greater attraction and interest in Kara, which Dee has always known stood between them. However, after Kara broke Lee's heart by marrying Sam, Lee rebounded lickety-split by proposing to Dee.
Their marriage lasted through the occupation of and exodus from New Caprica, as well as the unfortunate fat suit!, but once Kara was back on board the Galactica (and more damaged than ever), Lee's vows were all but forgotten in the fiery reunion scene that was their boxing match.
Still, Lee tried to make it work with his wife for a while longer, until she grew disgusted with his choice to represent Gaius Baltar and publicly discredit President Roslin on the stand. That seems to have been truly the last straw for the relationship, as we most recently saw them hug goodbye a little too politely for any possible passion to remain.
