Going into the last 10 episodes of the series, for me the elephant in the room isn't "Who's the 12th Cylon?" so much as "Where the frak was Starbuck?" Revealing the 12th Cylon is just that -- a reveal. But the Starbuck situation demands some pretty convincing explanation.
Of course, the two may go hand in hand -- if Kara turns out to be the 12th cylon, it makes her disappearance and "resurrection" much easier to explain.

I'm sure if 9 episodes isn't enough, there will be some extended story telling in the DVD release or maybe they're holding some mysteries over for Caprica. The mythology is deep, isn't it.
