 "Hot Dog" Brendan Costanza played by Bodie Olmos One of several nuggets from Starbuck's first training group after the Cylon attacks. She gave him his call sign after he mouthed off during the first class. In one of their earliest training flights, he disobeyed her order to return to Galactica when eight Cylon Raiders jumped into their airspace. Despite his lack of expertise, he was determined not to leave her alone out there (Act of Contrition). Apollo deemed Hot Dog worthy of his wings for that action, and before long, he was a fully qualified Viper jock. Later, he would be the one to give Sharon Agathon her new call sign, Athena (Torn). His relationship with Starbuck has always been complicated, a combination of admiration and respect for his teacher with the natural desire to prove himself over time by competing with her. He chose her as his sparring partner at the Dance (Unfinished Business), and he was an obvious choice for the crew of the Demetrius (The Ties That Bind). |  "Kat" Louanne Katraine played by Luciana Carro Also among the first of Starbuck's wartime trainees, Kat distinguished herself quickly and rose to the position of Galactica's CAG when both Apollo and Starbuck were reassigned to Pegasus (Resurrection Ship, part I). Her tendency to challenge and provoke Starbuck earned her both ire and respect from her former teacher. Eventually, Starbuck retired and settled on New Caprica while Kat remained a pilot and was again promoted to CAG (Occupation). This led to more resentment between them, as Starbuck lashed out at the pilots who had rescued the survivors of New Caprica, and Kat was hurt by the ingratitude (Torn). She was later revealed to have been a former criminal who had chosen to start a new life as a Galactica Viper jock (The Passage). She earned her redemption sacrificing herself to save a Civilian ship (as well as Helo, whose badge she swapped with her own already blackened indicator). Other feature episodes: Final Cut, Scar |  "Racetrack" Margaret Edmonson played by Leah Cairns Racetrack has been there for a lot of big moments: she served as Boomer's ECO on that final mission to destroy the BaseStar above Kobol (Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II); she was piloting the Raptor that went astray on the first jump back to Caprica...which allowed her to find the planet that would become New Caprica (Lay Down Your Burdens, Part I); she was the pilot of the listening Raptor when the Resistance finally made wireless contact from the ground of New Caprica (Precipice); she was there with Athena when they found the Lion's Head Nebula and the diseased BaseStar (Torn); she was on the Raptor left behind by Adama to confirm his suspicions that the Cylon fleet was closing in (Crossroads, Part I). In addition to being the character through whom we experience many pivotal moments, Racetrack is in a way the representative of the other pilots in terms of how they feel about important matters. She is the one who denigrates Helo and Sharon's relationship early on (Flight of the Phoenix), but she is also the one who volunteers to be Athena's ECO much later (Torn), demonstrating how much the Galactica crew has come to accept Athena after all this time. |
 "Duck" Tucker Clellan played by Christian Tessier Duck was a Viper pilot with 40 kills, according to Tigh, which would be even more impressive if not for the fact that his first screen time was in the battle when Sharon sent a virus that disabled all the Cylon Raiders, allowing the Viper pilots to have a free-for-all (Flight of the Phoenix). Regardless, Kat also calls him one of the best Viper jocks left (Scar). He mustered out and settled on New Caprica, hoping for a quiet, peaceful life with his wife Nora. They were trying to get pregnant, and he declined to involve himself in the Resistance because he was happy in spite of the Occupation, as long as he had her. Then she was killed in a Cylon raid of the Temple, and after a period of mourning, Duck joined the New Caprica Police to infiltrate the organization (The Resistance Webisodes). Still devastated by Nora's death and feeling he had nothing to live for, Duck attended his NCP graduation ceremony as a suicide bomber (Occupation). | ||

Deck Crew | ||
 "Jammer" James Lyman played by Dominic Zamprogna Jammer was my early pick for Cylon agent hiding in the fleet. He was shifty, and he had a bad attitude. If there was a fly in the ointment in any situation, it was Jammer in his unique yellow jumpsuit among all the orange. He was one of the three knuckle-draggers whose attempt to make moonshine (and subsequent attempts to cover up for both that and the Chief's liaison with Boomer) caused all that trouble (Litmus). When Chief was accused both then and later on of being a Cylon, Jammer not only believed it, he helped build the cell (Resistance). On New Caprica, Jammer was an early member of the rebellion, but he changed his allegiance after learning that Tigh was willing to risk innocent lives in fighting back against the Cylons (The Resistance Webisodes). He ultimately joined the New Caprica Police, which he came quickly to regret when one of his first assignments involved arresting Cally. He set her free just before she was to be executed(Precipice). Just after the exodus from New Caprica, he was executed by the Circle of Six for his actions (Collaborators). |  Cally Calandra Henderson Tyrol played by Nicki Clyne | |
