Overview

Anastasia Dualla, known to her crewmates as Dee, started out as a Petty Officer Second Class, serving as Communications officer aboard the Galactica. Her current rank is Major, since being promoted to XO of the Pegasus. While such an obvious show of favoritism by her then-husband Lee as CO of Pegasus would in the early days of his command have been cause for resentment from the rest of the crew, it goes to show how empty the fleet was by then, how far military protocol had fallen as a priority. She is now separated from Lee (see their page in the Relationships section).

Dee was born and raised on Sagittaron but has little sympathy toward people of her colony who don't break from their heritage by renouncing superstitious beliefs and speaking out against Sagittaron's most famous son, Tom Zarek, whom she considers an irredeemable terrorist.

It is clear that her affections for Lee were largely based on her assumption that he was like his father, a man she deeply admires and who shares many of her own beliefs. In fact, her relationship with Admiral Adama has always been very frank and platonically intimate. She has served at times as his conscience, moved by her emotions to say to him what no one else had the courage to voice.

Before her flirtation with Lee turned into more, she was involved with Billy Keikeiya (see their page in the Relationships section). That bond, and no doubt her guilt over how it ended, led to Dee's willingness to aid Colonel Tigh in the scheme to rig the Presidential election for Laura Roslin.
